How can i link
from keynote to an external PDF?
The only options when hyperlinking from Keynote is either; a slide, webpage or an email address.
Linking to another document is not possible.

But it was possible in earlier versions of keynote. It should be readded in the next versions.
Yes it was a feature of previous versions but Apple have deliberately not included linking to files or applications in the last two iterations.
