After ridding your computer of the numerous pieces of AdWare, restart and test for improved performance.

Please review the options below to determine which method is best to remove the Adware installed on your computer.

The Easy, safe, effective method:

If you are comfortable doing manual file removals use the somewhat more difficult method:

Also read the articles below to be more prepared for the next time there is an issue on your computer.

Your VM processing shows that you are running too much stuff at once so getting a lot of swapping going on.

Previous to Yosemite not unusual to see page ins to virtual memory -- its when things are being paged in and out that too much stuff is trying to run at the same time. If you were to upgrade to Yosemite - Yosemite kills processes that are not being used after a certain amount of time. Try loading less stuff at once.

If you have 8gB of RAM, that should be more than adequate for most tasks.

It is never a good idea to upgrade to attempt to fix an issue. You need to get rid of the junk below and retest.

Thank you for the reply, it's much appreciated.

Upgrading RAM - will help you -- but you are also short on drive Macintosh HD (disk0s2) / : 120.47 GB (35.44 GB free)

Actually, as your are photographer & graphic design wondering why you are not using a Desktop pro with ability to add more drives and memory.

Also, before considering Yosemite - check your hardware (printer etc) and software sites to see if they are compatible with Yosemite and how other users in your line of work feel about the changes to Memory handing in Yosemite.
