Separate Apple IDs - Setting Up Family Sharing

I have one Apple ID for purchases and another for iCloud: Email, Calendar, etc. (Not by choice. Just happened over time with various Mac versions and the fact that they won't let me combine accounts.) Now I would like to start Family Sharing. Which account do I use? And is there anything special I have to do?

Hello, DesignUmbrella.

Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities.

I understand you want to use Family Sharing, but have a couple questions as you have multiple Apple ID accounts. I would setup Family Sharing using the Apple ID that you use specifically for purchases. This should keep your iCloud account data from being modified.
