ipod will not come back on after being powered off please help!

Hi, so I powered off my ipod touch 5 yesterday for a wedding and after the ceremony I went to turn it back on, I held the top/off/menu button and the apple symbol comes up as is normal, but then the apple just stays there for about 45 seconds then it goes black again. I've tried everything I can think of, I've pressed both of the buttons at the same time I've pressed them separately, I've tried to charge it, and nothing works! The apple just comes up like it's going to turn on then goes black! Please help I really need this ipod to work, I've looked it up everywhere but nothing is helping, please help!

Try:

- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on

- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.

- Try another cable

- Try on another computer

- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.
