How to backup full iPhone to iCloud?

Hi guys!

I used to backup my iPhone 6 Plus 128GB to my laptop all the time. But now I want to switch to iCloud so that anytime something happens to my iPhone it'll be easy to reset and get all the data back. How do I back this iPhone (the iPhone is 128GB but i use 22GB right now) to iCloud so that all the music, photos, apps, safari data, etc. are backed up? And also, is using iCloud Backup a good choice?

Thanks!

MacBook, OS X Mavericks (10.9)
