Upgrade RAM if you can to at least 4 GBs.

Freeing Up Space on The Hard Drive

1. See Lion/Mountain Lion/Mavericks' Storage Display.

2. You can remove data from your Home folder except for the /Home/Library/ folder.

3. Visit The XLab FAQs and read the FAQ on freeing up space on your hard drive.

4. Also see Freeing space on your Mac OS X startup disk.

5. See Where did my Disk Space go?.

6. See The Storage Display.

You must Empty the Trash in order to recover the space they occupied on the hard drive.

You should consider replacing the drive with a larger one. Check out OWC for drives, tutorials, and toolkits.

Try using OmniDiskSweeper 1.8 or GrandPerspective to search your drive for large files and where they are located.

1. The Etrechecklist says that your Ram is not upgradable, which is true, it could have been ordered at moment of buy, but afaik not expanded afterwards.

2. Your SSDdisk should be freed to at least 15GB free, how hard that may be, you should do it; Read Kappy's post. It not only supports the Ram memory but also the write speed when you have enough free space.

3. You have to be very disciplined in what software you use at the same time, and what you do not need at all:

I propose to uninstall Adobe Reader, Yosemite Preview is very good,

and In MacintoshSSD->Library->InternetPlug-ins delete the two AdobePDFViewers, even if you want to continue AdobeReader, because they are counterproductive to the built-in PDFViewers.

Also delete the couponprinter-Firefox plugin, this really does not do anything for you.

Also delete the Java applet plugin in this folder, since you do not have Java installed.

4. Never use more than one browser at the same time, Quit all, except for the one you want to use.
