What iPhone & iPad do you have and what iOS are they running on?

If you are running iOS 7 or higher, in SettIngs tap Photos & Camera & turn on 'My Photo Stream' On both devices. Now when you take a photo with your iPhone, it will be in your Photo Stream folder of your Photo Library of your iPad. I believe the photo stream downloads to your device as long as you're using a wifi network. If you are running iOS 8 then you can turn on iCloud Drive & enable iCloud Photo Library on both devices which uploads all your photos to the cloud, giving your iPad access to your iPhone's photos & vice versa.

There are also several photo transfer apps in the App Store that will allow you to transfer photos between devices as long as they're on the same network.

You could create a free iCloud account, and turn on iCloud Photo Library. In order to do this, you must be using the same iCloud and Apple id on both your iPhone and iPad. If not, iMessage them to yourself.
