Possible to use US Macbook Pro Charger with UK Macbook Pro?

Moved to America with my UK Macbook Pro and need a replacement charger for my UK Macbook.

Wondering if anyone know if I can use a US charger with my UK Macbook Pro.

The cable is shredded just beside the brick, like this https://hackadaycom.files.wordpress.com/2013/04/repairing-apple-magsafe.jpg?w=80 0

So if it's possible, I could mix and match parts of the cable, possibly. Hoping somebody knows more about the step up, step down transformer and can let me know if this is actually possible, don't want to connecting a dodgy cable up if it's going to trash my Macbook.

The charger I was using previously was an 85w Magsafe Power adaptor: http://store.apple.com/uk/product/MC556B/C/apple-85w-magsafe-power-adapter-for-1 5-and-17-inch-macbook-pro

TLDR: Is it possible to use a US Macbook charger on a UK Macbook or will that cause issues.

MacBook Pro, OS X Mavericks (10.9.5)
