IPad 3-4 years old. 2 days ago started getting ads on page bottom. Today both mid-page ads and ads at bottom. Any suggestion?

Are the ads showing on a webpage using Safari? I would try clearing history & website data again. It could be on a particular website you're visiting. Have you turned on Block pop-ups in Settings under Safari?

Have you installed any new apps? most free apps are ad supported, so a new app can bring the joy of ads with them.

The ads are in Safari. Tried your suggestions but still getting ads. Ads appearing on Amazon, Barnes and Noble, and the like. Not on Gmail or Verizon page. Never happened before but now on bottom of page and a square on middle of screen. Thanks for your help.

Haven't installed anything new. Some apps have updated. Getting ads across bottom of page and in center of screen. Appearing on Amazon, Barnes & Noble and such. Never happened before. Thanks for helping.
Adverts are a reality on the internet. Please screenshot them so we can see if they appear to be normal - it could just be how these sites make extra money.
Hold the power button & tap the home button to create a screenshot - find it in the photos app & post samples here please (via the camera icon on this form).
It is also possible for an internet service provider, or a web proxy, a hacked wifi router etc to inject adverts into browsing 'downstream' so you can try using another internet connection to see if it is the same. Make sure you refresh the page several times to be sure any cached pages are gone.
Also post the full web address to where you see the adverts.
