USB not found in Finder sidebar, but visible on Desktop?

Hi! I'm running a MacBook Pro onOS 10.9.5, and have a 2.53 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo Processor, 4GB 1067 MHz DDR3 memory.

Yesterday, or the day prior to it, my USBs suddenly would not appear in my finder, and when I removed them, not realizing they were still connected, it claimed I hadn't ejected them properly. However, while they don't show up on my finder sidebar like they used to, they do have their volume icon/are visible on my desk top. I've gone through steps like uncheckign and rechecking my preferences on Finder, but I've had no luck. This is very irritating as I'm a school student and like have the drag and drop options Finder allows for me.

It's a Kingston 8GB usb and I've never had problems from it before.

NEVERMIND!!

I figured something out that fixed it, i can't remember what though.
