The best I can get is 30 bit colour, 30Hz at 1692 x 3008 (15" MBP touchbar Radeon Pro 450 2048 MB).

The best contrast is with hdmi and multiport adapter. There is shadowing using Display Port to usb-c and MST.

I am amazed that Dell only support Windows.

Yup. Absolutely. I think it's Displayport or MiniDisplayport for your 13" macbook pro (early 2013), so just buy the correct cable, plug 'er in and you should be good to go. Apparently. it even handles audio out via the displayport, so, if you wanted to connect it up to your tv set, no problem-just get an adapter or a Displayport to HDMI cable, and that's it. I have a slightly different model of Dell monitor, 2713HM and it works just fine with my Mac Pro (2010) and I'm liking the extra desktop space (used to have a 20" cinema display a while back)...still, pretty good monitor. ..
