no its a rental house and it comes with a network output in the wall.
can i just plug in the AirPort express and do the settings from My iPad?
Yes. You will need the iOS version of Airport Utility that you can download from the iTunes Store. I don't know if the AEX supports security, but if it does, then be sure to implement it so no one can access your network. If the AEX doesn't have security settings then get a good VPN service to use.
