I'm trying to use Amazon Fire TV in basement -- it works upstairs but not in basement -- could AirPort wifi not be reaching?

I have AirPort router - works all over house. However trying now to use Amazon Fire TV in basement - I don't get anything on the TV screen although I tested the fire tv upstairs and it works fine. I can use iPad, iPhone, etc in basement -- but is it possible wifi signal not reaching the fire tv?

Could well be. Wi-Fi signals are easily attenuated by both distance and interfering walls.

To add to Kappy's reply, the issue, most likely, is that the Wi-Fi signal may be getting to you Amazon Fire TV but it is a such a low bandwidth that the TV won't be able to use it. You can use a second AirPort base station (Express, Extreme, or Time Capsule) to extend the Wi-Fi range which may help.
