How to rename a 5th Gen 30GB ipod
iMac (27-inch Late 2009), iOS 7.0.6
Start iTunes and connect the iPod to the Mac.
Left click the iPod's name in the source list. Then . . . wait a second and left click it again.
After the second click, the name should be highlighted with a box around it.
Now just type in the new name and then ENTER.
I'm sorry but it did not work, the box did not highlight. Just stayed the same. Thanks Frank
Left click twice on the iPod name, then the name will be highlight.
It's like you change the name of a folder in Finder.
Still no good, it does not highlight, I tried several times, my cousin's name is still there, I know what you are saying it would be if I wanted to change a name on a song, I know how to do that, but this has me stumped. Frank
That is strange.
Try on the iPod: Settings >> General >> About / Info >> tap on Name >>
The you'll see the cursor and can change the name of the iPod.
