Bluetooth Pairing Help

I am trying to connect my iPad (iOS 8) to Keynote on my Macbook Pro running Yosemite. It was connected once but now when I try to connect it the Keynote app on my iPad says that both devices need to be on the same Wi-Fi network. They are but when I connect via bluetooth the little tethering icon on the top left pops up indicating that they may not be on the same network.

I did reset the network settings on my iPad already and that did not help.

Any help or advice?
