iTunes isn't letting me add music to my iPod?

BTW I do have the manually manage music option selected. When I click on the little "..." button that comes up when you scroll over a song/title and select "Add to" and then my iPod's name, it doesn't do anything! iTunes has been aggravating me a lot lately and it's pretty bad at doing what you want it to do. Help?
