new imac quadcore 2.7ghz. trying to set it up. got as far as saying i will sign up for icloud later and my little spinning ball has been goin for 3 hrs
can I start over?

Press and hold the power button for a few seconds until the power shuts off, then release, wait a few more seconds, and press it again briefly to restart.
Unless you can get it to start up and work as expected, I would not spend a lot of time trying to fix it. It appears to be DOA and I would contact Apple and return it. It should work correctly right out of the box.
