My new iMac just shut off and won't turn on. What to do?

I am working away on my iMac when it went dark. I tapped the keyboard. Nothing. I pressed the power button. Nothing. I check power cables. Nothing. I press and hold power button. Nothing. It is like it just died. The device is 110 days old, just past the 90-day free phone support. I have been using Macs since the early 90s. I have never had anything like this happen before. Any suggestions?

Please make a Genius Appointment and take it in for service since it is in warranty.

That is certainly my intent. Unfortunately, appointents are backed up five days. I plan to go as a walkin tomorrow and hope for the best.
