WHen I forward an email that has an attachment the attachment is lost. I.E. The recipient receives the email but not the attachment! What can be done??

In Mail under the Edit menu select Attachments and in the sub-menu select the topmost option.
Thank you Kappy, but i neglected to mention I am using gmail and cannot find the tabs you say I need to,access! Perhaps you coul advise further.

Gmail as in the provider, or as in that you downloaded the gmail-specific mail client?
I use the stock Mail app and have a mix of Apple, Microsoft and Google accounts, 9 altogether. As far as I can recall, when forwarding a message with attachments I get the option to include them or not, regardless of the mail provider.
