Resolution of movies on Retina Macbook Pro

Hi everyone!

I was just wondering what is the maximum video resolution a 13 inches TMacbook Pro is able to display?

This question is to know if it is useful to watch 1080p movies or 720p will look just the same... And what about youtube, they introduce 4K video and I'm able to watch them without any problem but will it be any different than 1080p or 720p on this display?

I'd use less bandwidth if I knew 720p was enough!

Thanks for the answers!
