I reside in India and had recently purchased an iPhone 6 from the United Kingdom with it's warranty expiring this September. I would like to know whether registering with AppleCare program would increase my warranty period and whether it would be held valid by Apple India Pvt. Ltd. ?

I hate to appear negative but all I see from India are complaints about service whether Apple India or any of the authorised service providers. By all means check what you can but be wary of spending unnecessarily. The attitude appears to be 'If we didn't sell it to you, you're on your own'.
In any event, I believe iPhones have to be returned to the country of origin for service.
The warranty on a phone purchase in the UK is valid in any E.U. country. It is NOT valid in India. AppleCare and AppleCare+ are also only valid in the country of original sale.
