I read a similar post to this forum but nothing was resolved. I have plenty of storage in Icloud. It says I have 2 GB on my plan. I lock it and have good WIFI connection. But it won't back up.

How much storage do you have available in iCloud (out of the 2GB)?
How big is your iPhone and how much space have you used up on it?
If the second number is bigger than the first then no, you don't have enough space. You can buy more or limit what information is actually backed up (using the iCloud Backup settings in your phone).
