Phone is making no sound notifications and Do Not Disturb is NOT on.

Question

Phone is making no sound notifications and Do Not Disturb is NOT on.

This weekend my phone stopped notifying me of calls or texts. I do not know when, but the only thing I did was use iTunes. I also showed my wife how to use the control panel dragged from bottom of screen to turn Do Not Disturb on and off.

Do not Disturb is off and the crescent moon is not displayed. The phone does vibrate.

I solved the problem. The lock button on the side of the phone was pushed and showing orange. I flipped it off and the phone now makes notifications.
