FCP 7 - Maintaining Background Transparency

I have an image that has a background that needs transparency. After achieving this transparency and exporting to PNG, GIFF and TIFF, the transparent background appears white on the FCP 7 timeline. Is there a way to resolve this?

How did you "achieve this transparency"? How did you save that file?

Put one of the imported files in the FCP Viewer, make sure that the Viewer is set to display a checkerboard background,

do you still see only white where you should be seeing the checkerboard?

In the FCP Browser, find your clip and then scroll the columns over to the right and find the Alpha column, is it set for the clip to None/Ignore? If so, right-click on the None/Ignore and try one of the other settings:

Can you post the PNG somewhere I can download it?
