When I ejected my iPod Nano a message pops up saying I didn't ejected my iPod properly

It doesn't happen every time and it sometimes happens when the iPod is just charging on my Mac. I hit the eject button in iTunes and a message pops up in the upper right hand corner saying: "Disk not ejected properly-Eject ___ipod before disconnecting or turning it off".

Has anyone had this issue?
