I do not have an hdmi TV I have an av-composite tv and if I got an av-composite to hdmi cord would it still work

I do not have a Apple TV yet but I wont one cause I already have an iPad iphone iPod

i know the Apple TV requires an hdmi cord but I only have a av-composite I think all I know is that my TV has the yellow one for video and the red and white one for audio but what I am really wondering is if a got an av-composite to HDMI if the Apple TV would show up on the screen and work
