How do I know whether a third party iphone cable is Apple authorised? The Mfi logo is now on Chinese counterfeits so that doesn't help
Apple will never authorize a third-party product.
Maybe third party is the wrong term. There are Apple certified cables not made by Apple. The Made for Iphone/ipad/ipod (Mfi) logo is supposed to identify them.
Maybe third party is the wrong term but Apple does certify some cables that are not made by them. The companies buy Apple chips to use in their cables. The Mfi logo is supposed to identify these certified products.
Couldn't say, but I don't think Apple approves anything they haven't tested themselves.

You don't even know if an Apple USB adapter was made by Apple. There are counterfeits that look identical to the Apple adapter. The only way to be sure is to buy it from an Apple store or Apple authorized iPhone seller (not just an Apple authorized dealer).
