Q: Apple ID

MMy iPhone and my moms share the same Apple ID And I'm not receiving her texts. How do I get a new Apple ID without changing my moms ID? I have tried but I get account not verified message and check email but keep going in circles. My mom thinks I should clear and reset my iPhone ?

iPhone 4, iOS 8.1.3
