Multiple connections 10.10.x

Since upgrading clients to Yosemite, I've seen as many as 1700 connections current in my File Sharing connected users (OS X 10.9.5/Server 3.2.2).

There are only 10 users, anyone seen this? Can't be right, or can it, Apple? Restarting the server clears them, but after a day or so, the # of connections starts climbing again.
