iTunes time remaining for tracks not syncing with car stereo via Bluetooth

I have a 2012 VW GTI and, while I am able to play music from and control iTunes via the bluetooth connection to the car stereo, the track time remaining that gets displayed in the car makes no sense and is inaccurate. I did not have this issue with my previous Android phone.

Has anyone experienced a similar problem? Is there a known fix to this, possibly resetting the car's settings somehow?
