system frozen

My computer completely frozen except for the cursor. All of the force quit and restart commands are not responding and I do not want to shut it down. Is there anything I can do??

I have a MacBook Pro with Retina Display 15"

You could try closing the lid and opening it again. Maybe, that could trigger a sleep wake cycle that might make the computer come back to normal

Hi!

If you don't have any important info on your computer at the moment, you can do a force shut down by pressing and holding the power button till the screen goes dark.

It will make it easier to help you w/ your problem to know the exact model, size, year built, RAM installed and OS you're running.

We know it's a rMBP but need to know more.
