iPhoto won't open at all

iPhoto won't open at all

Good afternoon,

My iPhoto is completely unresponsive when I try to open it. Clicking on the icon, or trying to open it through finder, or a right click and then click on 'open' - absolutely no response. I last opened it on 17 March when I was overseas and haven't done anything since then to my computer that I can imagine caused the problem.

Any thoughts? I am completely up to date with all of the updates available from the app store (just did that) and shut down and restarted the computer and it is the same. I have version 10.10.2 OS.x Yosemite.

What happens if you double-click on the Library in your Pictures Folder?

Oh gosh, i just get a beep, or a double beep if i double click, and no result. That doesn't sound good hey?

Which version of iPhoto do you have? Is it iPhoto 9.6.1? If not, run Software update from the appStore.

Select your iPhoto Library in the Finder and use the command "File > Get Info".

Does the Info panel show Does it say "Kind: Photo Library" or something else? And "Open with iPhoto"? Does it show a version number? And a filename extension?
