Unable to edit my playlists

I never see this option for my playlists? This is the normal and typical situation with these forums. Answers that appears simple, assuming, assuming, assuming those options are actually offered to the user. But most of the times, the version is different, or the f*#(ing operating system changes the interpretation etc. I hate the competing operating systems. I hate pretty much everything about the modern world, I guess.

The picture above is more than 2 years old, and in fact the newer versions of iTunes work differently from a view options perspective. If you have a specific question, you may wish to launch a new thread with details.

No kidding, why do they always change everything, its like going to Walmart and they move crap around so you have to wander around aimlessly trying to figure out what you need and just getting in a bad mood. I too do not have this option so I guess I will have to start a new thread and maybe in a couple years someone will get around to answering my question, but by that time there will be about 20 new IOS versions so the answer will be obsolete anyway, OY!

I do not see the dropdown at the upper right that allows this sorting. Just "upgraded" to 12.7.0.166 and can't edit a playlist. This nonsense of upgrading and losing or changing functionality every time is getting very tiresome.

The picture above is more than 2 years old, and iTunes has indeed changed. Now to get to sorting, click "View" then "Show View Options."

I found it easier to just open the playlist you want to edit in a new window. Then you can move songs to any order you want, but it seems to be a manual process. There is no apparent way to sort the songs automatically by Artist, Song, etc. Hope this helps.

Put it in Songs view, and click the column header for the item you wish to sort by.

Click it again if you want to have the sort be descending instead of ascending.

every since the new upgrade I have not been able to edit my playlist. The help did not help either because there no way I can manual sort music due to no button. This has become very frustrating and been on same problem for 4 days now

When a playlist is sorted, you cannot move the songs up or down; they will stay sorted. If you want to move songs, set the playlist for Sort By > Manual Order, as shown in the picture. You will then be able to drag songs up or down.

Thanks so much! This fixed my problem. I have been using playlists for quite awhile and all of a sudden today it stopped letting me move the songs. This fixed the problem.

I find I can't edit a playlist either!

This seems to have happened with version 10.7.0.166

Getting frustrated as I can't fins a way round it.

Any ideas?

Just a follow-on comment ... if you want to save the sort order that you created, be sure to right-click on the playlist name and select "Copy to Play Order".
