Q: My iMac was purchased in China, but Apple Support won't replace it for free.

Hello Apple Support staff,

I have a faulty iMac that is eligible for this replacement program, but mine was purchased in China and your support fellows here told me that they have not been told such a program.

My SN# ends with DHJQ, which according to numerous sources online is eligible.

It is now not booting up correctly showing vertical blue lines across the screen. I REALLY need my iMac fixed please tell me how.

You are not addressing Apple here. This is a user to user support forum. You need to contact Apple Care. Not sure where you may be saying that "your support fellows here". Unknown where you think here is. Use this support document to determine how to contact Apple Care in your location.  Contact Apple for support and service - Apple Support

Your Chinese warranty is not honored in the US. You can only get support under warranty in China.

I understand that, and I am merely asking if this program is intended globally or US-only.

I already contacted Apple Support China, which they deny knowing anything about this even after I showed them the English announcement linked on this post.

If I'm indeed eligible for replacement but is not honored because I am in a different country, it would not be fair to me.

That's exactly what I did first, someone called me back today and asked me where I got the information of the replacement program. I showed them the official link, but was denied support because the announcement listed is on the Apple U.S. store.

I know that Apple China is probably managed differently but Apple is a U.S. company, and the replacement program is only listed in English at the moment, I need to know whether it was globally applied or U.S. only, and what I can do to get what I deserved especially when I paid more than the U.S. customers for the same product. I believe I deserve not better but at least the same level of care.

Again, we are users, not Apple employees. We cannot answer for Apple, any more than you can. You have to deal with Apple, not the user forum. Whether it is a global program or not can only be answered by Apple. You are asking the wrong people.

Apple does not participate in the forum. They only monitor violations of the TOS when reported by other users, and for unanswered questions in a 48 hour period. You will not get a response from Apple here.

According to https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT203787, the program's worldwide. If it meets the requirements, the start with https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201232
