I can't download Yosemite

For some reason, I can't get Yosemite to download.

My internet is working fine, but in the 4 times I've tried, it either doesn't down at all, or only gets to about 30% and stops.

Can I go to my local Apple store and have them put it on a thumb drive or get a CD?

iMac, Mac OS X (10.6.8)

No you cannot, you may not be able to download it because your computer does not have the minimum specifications which are:

Before you install Yosemite, make sure you have one of these Macs:

  • iMac (Mid-2007 or newer)
  • MacBook (Late 2008 Aluminum, or Early 2009 or newer)
  • MacBook Pro (Mid/Late 2007 or newer)
  • MacBook Air (Late 2008 or newer)
  • Mac mini (Early 2009 or newer)
  • Mac Pro (Early 2008 or newer)
  • Xserve (Early 2009)

Your Mac also needs:

  • OS X Mavericks, Mountain Lion, Lion, or Snow Leopard v10.6.8, already installed
  • 2 GB or more of memory (4GB or more strongly recommended)
  • 8 GB or more of available disk space
