Here is a thread about someone who'd bought a used iPhone tied to a former owners Apple ID.
Perhaps something there may be of help. There is a safeguard idea behind an owner and their
Apple ID, and most sellers would ready their product for re-sale, and remove their Apple ID as
well as any other account or purchased apps, that are not transferable to some other person.
