memory slot utility flags up
At start up, this "flag" now comes up.
MEMORY SLOT UTILITY
Click on cancel- it goes away until you start up next time !

Thanks for the quick reply.
If I knew and felt what and how "root" was I feel I could attend to this.
I have read the suggested link you provided ( Enabling and using the "root" user in OS X - Apple Support) , but - what do I do when I am in the system to delete the offending "flag" ?
Can you expand a little please
