why can't Safari open the page 'https://www.netflix.com/au' ? The error message says it can't establish a secure connection to the server 'www.netflix.com

It's due to your DNS settings. Try dropping the s off https. In other words, load http://www.netflix.com/au instead. Try that.

No, that doesn't work because it simply takes me back to the 'unblock' website which enables me here in Australia to access the US website by using VPN to get around the geographic block. However Netflix has just launched in Australia so I should be able to go to the local website - but Safari won't allow it !! Very frustrating, especially as Netflix does not appear to have a contact number here that I can access for support.
Netflix's Mac support is actually pretty good, at least here in the US. Can you call that number instead? Do you need me to look it up for you?
