repair at local apple store

Hello!

I had my macbook air repaired at my local Apple store a little while ago and a thought occurred to me that I was hoping someone could address.

Would it have been possible for the employee who was repairing my macbook to steal any components from my computer and replace them with cheaper ones? Or to have done anything along those lines for that matter? Are macbook airs made in such a way that it would be impossible to take them apart?

I believe Apple would have steps in place to ensure no employee would be able to do such a thing.

I want to make it clear that Apple had amazing customer service and I am very thankful they repaired my computer.

Thanks!

Should you have indications or proof of such allegations you may

consider Apple Feedback, and also address your concerns to a

manager or if an independent authorized Apple service provider,

the owner of said establishment. If you were in an official Apple

Store retail location, note that and contact Apple directly.

Depending on the country or region your experience is based, a

different Apple contact method and details will apply to you. By

default some site links copied from Apple US site may go to a

more local Apple site if you are not in the US. Or check the site

to be sure you are able to address your country if not the US.

•Apple - Find Locations - Country Selector:

https://locate.apple.com/country

http://www.apple.com/contact/

•Apple Feedback:

Tell us how we’re doing. Select the appropriate feedback option

(we read everything, but can’t always respond):

Since these ASC discussions are user-to-user interactions, we cannot

speak as to Apple, Inc its policies, or other matters; and usually if a

technical question about hardware or software arises we may try to

our best ability to answer from experience or by limited research, as

many who reply here such as myself, are volunteers. We do not

represent Apple; & not qualified to address your question directly.

In any event...

Good luck & happy computing! 🙂

I doubt very much that there is any incentive for an employee to do that. Besides the likelyhood of there being a expensive part with an inexpensive equivalent is virtually impossible. Apple is not going to have two grades of parts produced. The bottom line is: Does the MBP work? Apple repairs are warranted for 90 days.

All Macs can be taken apart. You do need some unconventional tools to do so in some cases.

Ciao.
