iTunes not accepting my password

Hi,

iTunes is refusing to accept my password. I have updated it and tried several times. Yesterday my iTunes was having issues as well. What gives?

To clarify further...

The cycle goes:

I open iTunes. Under the 'Store' menu it indicates that I am already logged in (though I've tried logging in and out a couple times). I select 'view account' and an 'enter password' window pops up. I correctly enter the password. For a second the iTunes store starts to load, then immediately presents the same pop up window prompting for my password again so that I can 'view my account information.' When I try to purchase anything, it brings this up, but each time I enter my password it just gives me the window again. What can I do? I just want to be able to buy music!
