I have difficulty in reading & writing in my regional language kannada, as the fonts appear tiny boxes arranged in row with spaces, kindly help me to resolve.

All modern OS X installs have Kannada fonts included, but I guess yours is pretty old.

added the unicode font as per suggestion.
I am running snow leopard (10.6.8), "input sources" tab in "language & text" menu doesnt show kannada but populates all the other regional languages of India like telugu, gujarathi etc...
As you told OS may be old & have some bugs too, will try to resolve.
TThe font will let you read things, but to input you need to download and install the keyboard as well.
