Why does Home Sharing not work on my MacBook 2014?

Home sharing on my MacBook 2014 does not work, yet it does on my 2009. I have followed the steps for troubleshooting (checking on same iTunes account; same network; latest version of iTunes; switched off then on Home Sharing...). What am I doing wrong? Thanks for your help, folks!
