Hey IAN WILSON,

If you are having issues with playing your podcast within iTunes. You can play them directly with QuickTime as that should be installed if you are using a Mac. Take a look at the steps below to find the file and play them in QuickTime.

If you see a "This movie requires QuickTime" message in iTunes 12.1 or later

Play files with QuickTime

To play the files that need QuickTime, follow the steps below:

  1. Right-click on the content, then select "Reveal in Finder" or "Show in Windows Explorer."
  2. Right-click on the file, then click Open With.
  3. In the pop-up menu that appears, click QuickTime.

If you don't have QuickTime on your computer, download and install it. Then follow the steps again.

You can also use a third-party video-conversion software to convert your personal files to .mp4 format, which doesn't need QuickTime to run.

Regards,

Thanks for responding. These are download errors, and prevent you from downloading. I subscribe to around 80 Podcasts and they are all fine, there is just one that gives me a problem and thats "Wild Inside the National Zoo" from the Smithsonian Channel, but suddenly a NASA podcast that I have watched for years has been giving me this Download error, so the file never gets down to my local drive in order to play it out of iTunes. I will try deleting the Podcast and then resubscribe and then see what happens, but there is something bad happening in iTunes or the Producer of the offending Podcast.
