I have written an iBook using iBook Author, and I can export it as an iBook without any problems. However, when I try opening it, it opens on page 11 rather than the intro movie.
The problem happens on my mac, on my iPad and on someone else's iPad as well.
iBooks will always open on the last page viewed. If you have opened the ibook before on page 11, it will open there again the next time. You;d have to delete the iBook from the device before viewing it on that device in order to see it open on the first page.
I did. This is the behavior it has when it's freshly downloaded on a new device. On three independent new devices even.
that's really strange. I've never encountered that problem. Maybe there's something wrong with the template you are using, if it's not one of the standard templates that come with IBA.
It was made by modifying an older, similar iBook which doesn't have that problem. I think. Any idea if there's a setting somewhere that might control this?
There's no setting to make an iBook open up for the first time at a specific page. It will always open to the intro media (or the first page if there's no intro media). I bet there's something wrong with the file itself. It might be a case of re-doing the iBook into the new version of IBA. You may also want to try to save it as a template, and create a new iBook based on that template. Maybe that will fix the bug.
