Using iBooks created by iBooks Author

Hi:

We created an internal orientation book on iBooks Author, with the intention of using the book on an iPad. We can't get it to show up on the iPad in iBooks. Any suggestions? We're using iOS8.2 and 10.10.2 on the Mac. Thanks.

Thank you for responding, Tom.

We exported it into .ibooks format. We're able to open it on other Macs by posting the file to our FTP site, and downloading it (we've just started to build the book, and its too big to email already). Help in iBooks Author suggests emailing it to the iPad and opening it (too big) or posting it to the iTunes "window", then sync with an iPad. The and directs us to look for further info in iTunes Help, but I can't find any further directions there.

Thanks for any suggestions that you can provide.

Chuck

If the iBook file is very large (100 MB or more for example), it will take a while to download and open in iBooks. It looks like nothing is happening, but it's actually downloading. You could try to put it on a faster service like Box or Dropbox (both are my preferred way of getting books to clients). You send the share URL to the user via email and once they tap on the link, the iBook starts to download in Safari and then opens up in iBooks.
