Macbook Pro Mid 2010 not recognizing WD My Book

Just yesterday, my macbook functioned with the external hard drive just fine. Now it won't access it. In disk utility, it's listed. I tried verifying it, but it wouldn't. I tried repairing it and it wouldn't. I tried shutting it down, unplugging the power, shutting down the mac and then rebooting everything. Still nothing. When I try to eject the disk, it says it can't and tells me to make sure nothing on it is running, which I can't do because the mac won't even let me view it in finder. I've tried force unmounting it in Terminal and STILL nothing. PLEASE HELP
