my mag safe 85W cord is frayed; Do i need to replace it

my magsafe 85W cord is frayed right at the mac connection. Computer is out of warranty. Only option to buy new one?

MacBook Pro (Retina, Mid 2012), OS X Yosemite (10.10.2)
