Cannot restore form Time Machine

My computer was restored by Apple and now I am unable to restore from Time Machine. I believe it is because my computer was renamed. Using shift command c I can see my user file (which is under an old name) but am told I do not have rights to view. However, I can see my both my husband's and our shared file. Help!
