Can someone please tell me how to disable AirPrint on an iPad mini? Students in one of our developmentally handicapped classes are "accidentally" printing to our school district superintendent's color printer. He is not happy and wants it stopped. We want students to be able to use the wifi, but they will never print with these. Surely there is a way to turn off this feature.
Turn off the printer. Or turn off WiFi on the printer and connect it to his computer via USB.
We don't want these iPads printing anywhere EVER, and they're seeing printers all over the district. We don't want to turn off or reconfigure printers. The printers aren't causing the problem, the iPads are. Is it not possible?
Here are two ideas:
-- Some printers support requiring a password for printing and it appears the ipad supports a password protected printer. ( note. this is a different password from your wifi password. )

-- Well if all of your wifi network was password protected. You could buy or setup another wifi router for thiese students. The students would be limited to this router. Or at least to get the administrator off your back, you could place the administrator and the printer on a different password protected wifi network.
The airprint protocol requires the students to be near enough to the printer ( in physical feet ) to be able to contact the printer.
