This pop-up also occurs on Macs and is a scam and is one of several
varieties. They come with varying disguises and look really official
and ominous.
They attempt to suck people in and pay for a "service" and actually take over the
computer, supposedly scanning to fix the problem. Who knows what sort of
stuff they may be extracting.
